Practically every piece of technology that I own was won on eBay. This also holds true for my sunglasses, and some other assorted amenities that I thought I couldn’t live without. Buying on eBay got me thinking about selling on eBay. A quick look around my house and garage found numerous priceless trinkets that surely would fetch me a shiny penny on eBay. But what happens when my Dukes of Hazzard collectables run out? Where do people go to find products to sell? How expensive is it to sell online and finally, how much does it really cost to ship an item to a customer on eBay? I hope to answer these questions as I look at how to make money on eBay.
eBay is everywhere you look, since it’s inception in 1995, eBay has changed the way people shop worldwide. On any given day, there are millions of products in thousands of categories being sold on eBay. From hard to find collectible items, to the latest tech gadget, you can find it on eBay.
According to a recent survey conducted by ACNielsen International Research, a leading research firm, more than 724,000 Americans report that eBay is their primary or secondary source of income. This does not count the additional 1.5 million people that said that they supplement their income by selling on eBay. This survey was done in July of 2005.
Research confirms my theory that there is definitely money to be made on eBay. My next question would be, who is making money on eBay and where do they find products to sell to maintain a steady income? I found out that eBay features “power sellers,” which are people that sell on eBay full time and seem to have an endless supply of products available to them to sell.
